Abstract:
Integrated power system (IPS) technology is another profound revolution for ship power platform since its birth, the US-led multinational navy now is rushing to occupy this high ground. In 2013, USS destroyer DDG1000 using the first generation of integrated power technology officially launched, showing unparalleled advantages in all aspects compared with traditional ship power platform. Our country proposed medium voltage DC technology roadmap for the first time, 4-5 years ahead of the US and Britain, breaking the typical ‘tracking and imitation’ pattern in equipment development and win precious time for catching up with the US and European powers in developing naval equipment. Electromechanical energy conversion equipment as the core of ship-board integrated power system, also exhibits difference from conventional ones on key technologies. This paper briefly reviews the overall situation of IPS development at home and abroad, and then focuses on technical characteristics of the ship power generation, propulsion, the storage subsystem, systematically elaborated on our country’s key progress achieved in motor design and electromagnetic optimization, control strategy, innovative cooling, structural design and manufacturing solutions, which laid a solid foundation for application of integrated power technology.
