An Analysis of the Standardised Management of Chemical Laboratory Safety in Colleges and Universities

The laboratory is a crucial venue for teaching and research activities in modern universities.In recent years,safety incidents in university laboratories,especially in chemistry laboratories have occurred frequently,which is gradually evolving into a significant issue affecting the normal operation of universities and societal safety and stability.This paper takes safety incidents in university chemistry laboratories as examples,summarizes their characteristics,thoroughly discusses the root causes leading to recurrent safety incidents,and proposes a series of suggestion of improvement to enhance the safety system of university laboratories.The suggestions include establishing a comprehensive laboratory safety system,effectively implementing safety responsibilities,enriching the management of hazardous chemicals and hazardous waste,constructing a diversified and multi-level safety education system,and developing safety capabilities in both hardware and software.The core objective of this paper is to analyze the current status of laboratory safety management,explore new initiatives in laboratory safety management,and ultimately enhance the level of laboratory safety management.It aims to provide insights and references for university administrators and laboratory management personnel.
