Abstract:
In public security colleges,university chemistry is a fundamental course in the field of criminal science and technology.In traditional teaching,teachers focus on cultivating students'professional basic knowledge,theoretical and experimental skills,while neglecting the cultivation of ideological qualities.HPS education integrates the history of science,philosophy of science,and sociology of science into science teaching,emphasizing the criticality,innovation,and humanity of science.At the same time,it can cultivate scientific literacy such as patriotism,innovative consciousness,scientific thinking,and humanistic care among college students in public security colleges.A model of integrating HPS education into the university chemistry curriculum of public security colleges was designed by fully exploring the elements of chemical history,chemical philosophy,and chemical sociology in university chemistry.The results showed that with the application of HPS education in university chemistry courses,the enthusiasm of students to learn university chemistry courses is on the rise,and their scientific literacy and professional identity are further enhanced.The integration of HPS education has greatly promoted the teaching effectiveness of university chemistry courses,and can also provide feasible models and methods for the teaching of chemistry in public security colleges and universities,as well as practical references and references for other courses in public security colleges.
