Abstract: The safety management measures for the use of chemicals in environmental monitoring experiments at grass-roots ecological and environmental monitoring stations could no longer fully meet the requirements of modern safety management. Based on the current situation and existing problems of chemicals management in grassroots ecological and environmental monitoring stations, and combined with the actual situation of environmental monitoring laboratories, this study analyzed the architecture and purpose of introducing the Material Safety Data Sheets(MSDS) information management system for chemicals, and explored the significance of integrating laboratory information management system(LIMS) with MSDS functions, proposed general requirements for laboratory chemical management, and established emergency response plans to deal with emergencies,which could strengthen the management of chemical procurement and storage, usage, personnel management, and harmless disposal in environmental monitoring laboratories, so as to standardize the safety management of environmental monitoring experiment analysis and chemical use, and ensure the safe use of chemicals at grassroots ecological and environmental monitoring stations.
