Abstract: In order to explore the usability issues of Smart IoT technologies in enhancing the Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) at universities, the paper analyzes the limitations of current LIMS and proposes possible application models of IoT technologies to improve management efficiency and security. Additionally, the study compares the development processes of LIMS domestically and internationally, suggesting integrated solutions involving cloud computing and artificial intelligence, and summarizes the significant role of IoT technologies in promoting research and teaching innovation at universities
