Cost-Cutting Measures and Improvisation in the Reconstruction of Taihemen

Through a combination of on-site investigation, detection, and analysis of the ailments affecting Taihemen, along with archival research, this paper verifies the phenomenon of cost-cutting measures in the Taihemen reconstruction project, and elucidates the ingenious designs of craftsmen to navigate the legal constraints while implementing these cost-saving measures. On this basis, it calls for a proposition for the subsequent preservation of Taihemen.
