Municipal Services Buildings in Hong Kong - an Evolution from the 1980s to the 21^st Century

This article traces the evolution of municipal buildings in Hong Kong from the early 1980s to the 21^st century, and analyzes planning intentions, policies, and features. The authors divide the evolution of this building type into two stages: the first stage encompasses last two decades of the 20th century; the second stage started in the 21^st century. Four examples are chosen from each stage to reflect the characteristics of architecture and historical setting.
