Abstract:
This paper seeks to examine the evolutionary concepts of airport layout in major European and American urban planning practices between the 1920s and the 1940s. It aims to analyze the influence of these concepts on modern Chinese urban planning works, focusing on stage division, transmission channels, and technical content. Additionally, it proposes to utilize diagrams to illustrate the genealogical relationship among planning figures, thoughts, and works that helped shape airport layout ideas in modern Chinese urban planning. Ultimately, it elaborates the origins of these airport layout concepts in typical modern urban planning projects.
