Abstract:
Based on archaeological discovery and historical literature, the paper confirms the function of the No.1 building site situated to the west of the inner of the city Jin Shangjing capital. Contrary to the initial interpretation as a ritual structure in archaeological reports, this site actually served as a multifunctional landscape architecture within the royal garden, facilitating Shamanic sacrifices and royal banquets, which is identified as the Cool Palace and Wuyun pavilion referenced in
The History of Jin (Jin Shi). Through a meticulous process of restoration primarily informed by archaeological findings and supplemented by historical literature analysis, ruler painting in Song dynasty, and the physical form of the building site, it develops a revised restoration plan in a more accurate and authentic restoration proposal.
