Abstract: This article examines the migration route,field investigation, academic output, and individualactivities of members of the Society for Research inChinese Architecture in southwestern China. Drawingupon existing research, it seeks to provide a morecomprehensive understanding of the modern academicsurvival background of the Society and the historicalprocess of how its members refined their academicspirit in southwestern China. The article is divided intotwo chapters, with this one focusing on the Lizhuangphase (from the begin of 1941 to the summer of 1946)of the Society’s journey. Through an analysis of theavailable evidence, it aims to shed light on the events thattranspired during this period.
