Abstract: This article provides a review of the historical changes to the agricultural landscape of polders in the Taihu Lake basin, investigating the internal causes that have led to the current agricultural landscape and rural settlement pattern in the middle and lower reaches of Taihu Lake. Through an analysis of the changing landscape pattern, the article aims to provide an important reference for contemporary rural development.
