Abstract: From the perspective of the construction organization, this paper explores two aspects of contact between the National Resources Commission and Kwan, Chu, and Yang Architects & Engineers in the early stage, by means of literature analysis, archive data mining, and site survey. The aim is to describe how Yang Tingpao participated in the organization’s technical consulting and gained design experience from 1938 to 1948. The paper then investigates the relationship between the theories of technology underlying Yang’s overseas studies and the reconstruction projects he managed after his return, to discuss the postwar design strategy of Kwan, Chu, and Yang Architects & Engineers and construct a timeline of collaboration between them and the National Resources Commission.
