Abstract
The wind drag coefficient and resistance loss of conventional overhead conductor is large, the application of this type of conductor in coastal typhoon area is not conducive to reduce the investment and improve the reliability of transmission line. Based on Zhongtian-Meizhou 110 kV transmission line project in Fujian province which is the first time to apply the drag reduced conductor in domestic transmission line, the change rule of wind resistance coefficient is obtained through wind tunnel test. At the same time, according to the characteristics of the transmission line in coastal strong wind area, comparing with the conventional conductors such as Aluminum conductor aluminum-cald steel reinforced, all aluminum alloy conductor and aluminum conductor alloy reinforced, the energy-saving drag reduced conductor is systematically analyzed from the aspects of transmission capacity, resistance loss, electrical performance, mechanical and load characteristics, project investment, economic evaluation, etc. The research shows that the drag reduced conductor has obvious advantages in energy saving, reduction of wind load on conductor and tower, reduction of investment, it has a good application prospect in the coastal typhoon area. Besides, the matching fittings which are suitable to the special structure of the drag reduced conductor are developed.
