Abstract
Two degree of freedom direct drive induction motor (2-DOFDDIM) can produce rotary motion, linear motion and helical motion. Aiming at the special structure and performance of 2-DOFDDIM, a coupled model is established to analyze the influence of traveling magnetic field on rotary motion. The torque equation of rotary part and thrust equation of linear part are corrected. A field orientation control scheme is developed which accounts for the coupling effects based on the mathematical model of 2-DOFDDIM and the field orientation control system is built in Matlab/Simulink. The result shows the rotary and linear speed can follows the given speeds rapidly, which verifies the field orientation control scheme considering coupling effect.
