Direct Power Control Strategy Based on Fuzzy Control of Brushless Doubly-Fed Generator

  • In order to achieve real-time effective control of active power and reactive power for brushless doubly-fed generator (BDFG), we put forward a direct power control (DPC)strategy. Compared with the traditional vector control, DPC without complex coordinate conversion simplifies the control system and improves the response speed of the system. The traditional DPC uses power hysteresis comparator to achieve the purpose of power control. However, we replace traditional power hysteresis comparator with fuzzy controller, because this method can select the appropriate voltage vector according to the size of the active power and reactive power degree, so it can improve control accuracy and boost motor response speed to power command. The BDFG used in wind power generation control system with the direct power control based on the fuzzy rule is simulated by using the Matlab/Simulink software, and the simulation results show that the control method is correct and effective.
