Abstract:
Galloping of overhead transmission lines is a kind of low frequency and large amplitude nonlinear vibration caused by ice-covered conductors excited by wind. In recent years, the galloping of overhead transmission lines under severe weather often occurs, which seriously threatens the safe and stable operation of power system. By collating the research progress in the field of overhead transmission line galloping research at home and abroad, the characteristics of transmission conductor ice-covering galloping and its influencing factors are sorted out and analyzed, the current theoretical researches on the mechanism of transmission line galloping are introduced, the experimental research and simulation calculation methods of galloping are discussed and summarized, and the proposed feasible line galloping monitoring and early-warning techniques and prevention measures are summarized. Problems and limitations of the current research are summarized, and the development direction of overhead transmission line galloping research is prospected, with a view to forming a systematic cognition of the development of overhead transmission line galloping and providing a theoretical basis and guidance for reducing and suppressing faults due to galloping, and thus improving the reliability of power grid operation.
